I like this strategy – play well enough to go to overtime, maximizing both the entertainment value and playtime for the young players, yet not hurting their chances for The One Brow.
Well played sirs. Well played.

Didn’t see it. Not surprised by the result. #KowtowToTheBrow
15 seconds, 5 point game, Bobcats allow the Timberwolves to dribble the game out.
I get that the Bobcats really want that #1 pick, but I really feel bad for the broadcast crew, especially tonight’s color/pbp pair, Steve Martin and Stephanie Ready. Steve seems like he genuinely cares, and Stephanie is probably the longest tenured Bobcat employee. Martin seemed a little depressed and had had to stop Ready when she expressed the surprise that the team was just giving up. Those two do good work too.
OF COURSE THEY LOST WHY ARE YOU EVEN HERE?
I was heading back to my office after lunch basketball and ran across Doc Rivers walking down the street.
I shook his hand, exchanged pleasantries and then asked him not to beat up on the Bobcats too bad tonight.
His reply was “just a little, you don’t want to win, you want the draft pick”.
I laughed and then died a little inside.
Here’s a random smattering of Nets Stats
PPG: 92.5
Tonight: 101
RPG: 39.9
Tonight: 46
APG: 19.4
Tonight: 24
Points Allowed: 99
Tonight: 89
Unsurprisingly, the Nets won.
My league team also lost by 4 tonight. I hate basketball.
The Bobcats played better than the Bobcats in these statistical areas:
Steals: 6-5
FT%: .885-.571
#PrayForCardboardGerald kids. He needs it. Oh yeah, and go read his article about covering the Bobcats. I feel his pain.
The first half was a pretty entertaining.
Let’s just say it was down hill after that.
Remember kids, #PrayForCardboardGerald
I really don’t have anything witty to say here.
Corey Maggette had the quintessential “Bad Porn” game: 21 points on 3-11 shooting, 14-14 from the line.
Also, the Raptors have lost to the Bobcats twice this year. Contract the Raptors.
Finally, the last 2 minutes of this game literally took 2 hours. I watched the last 4:30 of the game after getting home from the gym so I am currently marinating in my own sweat. Thanks guys. My chair appreciates it.
The Bobcats played well in the first half and ended with a 6 point lead.
Then the Mavs took the Bobcats out to the woodshed in the 3rd quarter and had their way with them. Not entirely unexpected, as the Bobcats’ success in the 3rd quarter this season strongly resembles Clemson Basketball’s success in Chapel Hill.
So why is this a Moral Victory game?
Because with 1:39 left in the game and a 10 point lead, Rick Carlisle pulls Dirk and inserts The Custodian because the game is clearly over. The Bobcats proceed to cut the lead to 5 in the next 30 seconds, and Carlisle had to put poor Dirky-Dirk back in the game.
MORAL VICTORY!
